About the Director
Dr Nik Loft is an Ahpra registered psychologist in Australia with endorsement in both clinical and forensic psychology. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) in Psychology in 2006 and completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in the United Kingdom in 2011. Additionally, he has a Graduate Diploma in Forensic Psychology and holds an Adjunct Research Fellow position with the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science (Swinburne University). He has worked extensively as a psychologist in adult forensic mental health and prison services in both Australia and the UK. He has also worked in other specialist services, such as a specialist forensic intellectual disability inpatient service, adult mental health services (community and inpatient rehabilitation), Adult Autism Diagnostic Service, and a neuropsychology service in the UK. He has prepared court reports in both the UK and Australia.
Dr Loft is a board-approved clinical supervisor and continues to hold a senior leadership role in statewide secure inpatient services where he provides clinical leadership, supervision, governance contribution, and service design within complex environments. He has also conducted and collaborated and published peer-reviewed research in international journals, presented at conferences, and regularly conducts audits, service evaluation and quality improvement projects.
